Leonard, a grantwriting consultant with more than ten years of experience, including as a program officer for a statewide public foundation. 10 Ways to Improve Relationships with Grantors will help you to be more competitive in the grant seeking process and assist you in increasing your success ratio. Cultivation: How to Build Lasting Relationships with Grant Makers What separates organizations who win grants from those who do not? Often, it’s cultivation. Active, participatory, systematic cultivation with the “right fit” grant makers. Cultivation has become even more critical to grant seekers and foundations since the start of the most recent recession. The economic downturn has produced a higher demand for services provided by nonprofit organizations and has contributed to the creation of an increasingly competitive funding environment. Presenter: Heather Stombaugh, GPC GPC CEU: 1 credit hour CFRE CEU: 1 credit hour Level of Experience: Beginner Date Recorded: 04/25/2012

Developing and Maintaining Relationships with Funders The crux of all fundraising is NOT money, it’s RELATIONSHIPS. Funders want to feel that you understand them. You want to show them that you do and that you are the best organization to meet their needs. How do you do that? This session shows you how. It is about developing and maintaining relationships with funders that will lead to continued success.
