CHALLENGE : What are the critical health challenges facing the world’s countries? Listen as we read the introduction together.  Explain, using examples, how diseases impact or relate to: 1.Society 2.Economy 3.Environment

VOCABULARY Record definitions for the following in your lab notebook; provide examples wherever possible. 1.Infectious Disease 2.Non-infectious Disease 3.Communicable 4.Pandemic 5.Epidemic

CHALLENGE : What are the critical health challenges facing the world’s countries?  At the end of this activity you will… Write a paragraph outlining the critical health challenges of your assigned country. Be sure to support your case by citing specific details about your country and by making comparisons with other countries.

World Health Data Sets Study the data for your assigned country. Make a NEAT table or chart to help you record appropriate data. You may want to use these column headings: – General Country Information (world location, etc.) – General Health Information – Disease & Mortality Information – Financial Information – Risk Factors Record data that illustrates your country’s health challenges. Select data that you feel is important to support your claim. (DO NOT SIMPLY RECORD ALL THE DATA!)  As a reference, also record information on the United States that helps you better understand and interpret your country’s data.

World Health Data Sets Share what you think is key data for your country.
