CPF-NWT S TRATEGIC P LAN

Strategic Plan: Background In CPF-NWT Board identified the need to develop a Strategic Plan to outline vision & priorities for the Branch Worked with a consultant who lead the Board through a strategic planning exercise Strategic Plan was officially launched to members at the 2013 AGM Board to report back annually at the AGM on the progress of implementing the Strategic Plan & Workplan Will review the content of the Strategic Plan every 3-5 years, as needed

Strategic Plan: Goals 1.Encourage the use of French in and out of schools in NWT communities with FSL programs. 2.Strengthen credibility and visibility of the organization in schools and in communities where there are active Chapters. 3.Increase sustainability of the organization, including strengthening the volunteer base. 4.Advocate for NWT student access to a range of quality FSL programs.

Strategic Plan: Priorities 1.Diversify sources of funding 2.Promote CPF National activities to NWT schools (Concours) 3.Increase & solidify volunteer base 4.Develop focussed marketing efforts 5.Increase perception of CPF-NWT credibility 6.Work collaboratively with key partners

Workplan: Background Based on the Strategic Plan, the Board has developed a 3-year Workplan Workplan seeks to advance the goals and priorities of the Strategic Plan CPF-NWT Budget priorities based on Workplan

Activities: Status 1.Encourage the use of French in and out of schools in NWT communities with FSL programs. Concours (built a NWT-specific Concours Toolkit for Teachers; created a banner for a school champion; planning and funding secured for Concours 2014) Activities with schools (e.g. Canoe Camp; Camp de Neige) Activities with Chapters (e.g. Lego nights; Les Raporteurs; Author visit; Leadership Club) Activities at Branch level (e.g. Kayaking, Cooking Classes, Climbing Wall, Hike to the Ice Caves) xActivities outside of Yellowknife (deferred to )

Activities: Status 2.Strengthen credibility and visibility of the organization in schools and in communities where there are active Chapters. CPF-NWT Champion (Wendy Bisaro) Maintain website (new cover photo launched; content) National Magazine (NWT contributed content) Participated in school open house events Increased Facebook audience from 5 members to +300 members; regularly post content New CPF-NWT banners/promotional material xCommunications Plan Developed (deferred to )

Activities: Status 3.Increase sustainability of the organization, including strengthening the volunteer base. Develop and maintain a workplan (3 year workplan developed) Funding proposals & reporting to PCH, City & MACA (completed) Membership benefits defined (developed a membership continuum) Recognition program planning (Volunteer program developed) Board policies & job descriptions (Board job descriptions completed; Travel policy completed; Partnership Guidelines completed) Participate in National meetings (ED meetings, President meetings & National AGM) Hold CPF-NWT AGM (held in May 2013) xBoard team building activity

Activities: Status 4.Advocate for NWT student access to a range of quality FSL programs. Develop links to ECE (participated in ERI discussions/consultations) Liaise with French coordinators within each district Establish a partnership model / work with like- minded organizations (worked closely with YK schools, Chapters & AFCY to pilot a Partnership Model)
