Cultural Collage

Family When I think of my culture today, the first thing that comes to my mind is my family. My wife and kids are why I am who I am and why I do what I do. Our time is spent mostly traveling around the state for my son’s hockey or dining out at our favorite restaurants but our best days are just hanging out around the house and Football Sundays

Church and Religion My Catholic faith and upbringing plays a immense part in my culture. I see the world through Catholic lenses. The values and morals I was taught from a very early age is engrained and considered before I do anything.

An American Being an American is a big part of my culture. We are the land of opportunity, the land of the free and the home of the brave.

The Military The Values I learned in the military are part of who I am. Having been part of this culture for so many years, the military way of life has shaped how I view the world and how I choose to live my life.

Hockey Hockey plays another big role in my culture. I am not Canadian but in my life hockey is very important. I am a USA Hockey coach, I coach in-house leagues at our local rink. At least 3 or 4 days a week, I am sitting at a local hockey rink for my son’s practice or games for his travel team. I also play in the adult league locally and of course we are avid NHL fans.

Work Life We all have to make a living right? Several years ago I left a well paying government contract job to pursue a career in real estate. The real estate culture is not like many others. My cell phone has become a tool that I have learned to love and dread at the same time. I love meeting new people and always try to be friendly to everyone. My profession has become part of my everyday culture.
