POD Week 3: Problem # 2 By, MARA CARDONA

Problem Noel bought a bicycle for $45, then sold it to Aron for $65. A month or so later he bought it back from Aron for $90, and later sold it to Jalen for $125. Has Noel made of lost money, and how much has he made or lost?

Strategy Step by Step & Calculations

1 st step I subtracted $45 from $65 I did that because $65 was how much Aron bought the bike from Noel for & $45 was the price Noel originally got the bike for. I got $20 which is how much Noel gained out of that deal

2 nd step I subtracted $45 from $90 I did this because $90 is how much Noel bought the bike back from Aron for and the $45 is the original price of the bike I got $45

3 rd step I then subtracted $45 from $20 I did this because the $20 that Noel gained when he sold the bike to Aron and the $45 that is how much he lost when he bought the bike back from Aron I got -$25

4 th step I subtracted $45 from $125 I did this because the $125 is how much Jalen bought the bike for and the $45 is the original price Noel bought the bike for I got $80 which Noel gained from the deal

5 th step I added $80 to the -$25 I did this because the $80 is how much Noel gained when he sold the bike to Jalen and the -$25 was from when he lost money after buying the bike back from Aron I got $55

All Calculations $65-$45=$20 $90-$45=$45 $20-$45=-$25 $125-$45=$80 -$25+$80=$55

Answer: Noel made money He made $55
