LOVE YOUR MELON Love Your Melon is a nonprofit organization handing out hats to kids with cancer. They believe that putting a smile on a child’s face can sometimes be the best medicine for a child going through a rough time.

By giving a hat to a child in a hospital it provides an opportunity to put a smile on the child’s face. Kids battling cancer need more than just medicine to get through their fight. When the hats are delivered to the kids the people delivering them dress up in super hero costumes to cheer them up. The founders Zachary Quinn and Brian Keller started this organization to make a difference in their community and later realized that they could not only impact their community, but the whole United States.

The Love Your Melon Tour is a bus trip that travels across the United States stopping in numerous cities and handing out hats to kids in hospitals. On January 12, 2014 it embarked on its journey across the East Coast and on May 15 th it began its journey across the West Coast.

The foundation for Love Your Melon is a “buy one give one”. As people buy the hats to support the kids with cancer a hat would then be donated to a kid in a hospital. The Love Your Melon Foundation also sells bags to help raise money for the children with cancer. Since October 22, 2012 over 12,000 hats have been sold. Besides beanies, the foundation also offers different types of baseball hats.

Pediatric Physical Therapy is widely used for cancer patients. To donate or contact this organization you can go to or if you would like to follow their blog you can go to
