9 Social and Cultural Principles Sustainable livelihoods - promoted by the appropriate use and management of fire. Human health and security - improved by minimizing the adverse effects of fire. Traditional uses of fire - should remain as a practice on the lands of indigenous peoples and traditional rural communities and be adapted to the current environment.
