Social justice “Low-income disadvantaged communities are the best water conservationists: At the end of the day, we’re not going to waste water because it costs money”. Susana De Anda, co-founder Community Water Center

Social justice Coachella Water Authority customers have the lowest per capita water use. Our GCPD for January, 2016 was 63. However we are still under the State’s mandate to reduce water production by 24%. We met the 20% by 2020 before the State’s emergency mandate. Since the conservation mandates reduce the amount of water we sell, thereby reducing revenues, we may have to conduct a rate study to address the loss of revenue to a community that can least afford it.
