The Value of Righteous Living “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” Proverbs 14:34 “…fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all.” Ecclesiastes 12:13

What Is Righteousness? We can know what is right –R–Romans 1:16-17 –A–Acts 10:35 –P–Psalms 119:10-18 –P–Philippians 4:8 –P–Psalms 119:172 “Character or quality of being right or just” “Righteousness embraces the idea of the right knowledge in the mind, leading to the right action in life” (W. E. Vine)

The Value of Righteous Living to: NOAH While every living substance was destroyed, righteous Noah and his family were saved! –1 Peter 3:20 “a just man and perfect in his generations and Noah walked with God” (Genesis 6:9) Found “grace in the eyes of the Lord” (Gen 6:8)

The Value of Righteous Living to: ABRAHAM The Savior came through Abraham’s FAITH! –Galatians 3:16 “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. And he was a friend of God” (James 2:23) Abraham’s supreme test: His willingness to sacrifice his only son Isaac ( Hebrews 11:17-18)

The Value of Righteous Living to: the city of SODOM Sodom and Gomorrah’s wickedness and moral decay became proverbial –Romans 9:29 “the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the LORD out of the heavens.
