Marco Cattaneo Goals of workshop  Brainstorming of ideas for improvements to LHCb core software Not detailed discussion of implementations, should be done later in smaller, dedicated meetings of interested parties Agree on development directions  Classification of work: Urgent: in production before next data taking Medium term: in production by end of year Long term: in production by end of long shutdown (mid- 2014)  Prioritisation of work: Within each category: identify manpower, assign priorities 2
