GAIN……..The advantage Presented by: Bryan Glendinning Chairman Grant Aided Heating Installers Network

Agenda  What is GAIN?  The carbon agenda and fuel poverty issues  The collective mass, ‘action speaks louder than words’  What can we do and how?  What's next?

 GAIN has been in existence since 2002  A developed, strong and proactive management board, which is supported by an excellent secretariat with over 25 years experience in the fuel poverty arena.  50 Member Companies, representing over 5,000 employees.  Historically operated as a conduit between, scheme managers, Government and other professional bodies. “Talking Shop”  GAIN’s Modus Operandi is evolving from passive conduit to actionary, providing opportunities for members to look at new delivery opportunities within the Carbon and Fuel Poverty arena. Whilst maintaining our existing relationships with Government and scheme managers. What is GAIN?

What are we doing about the Carbon agenda and Fuel poverty issues?  GAIN actively works with DECC on scheme issues for existing contracts, such as Warm Front. As well as lobbying and challenging to ensure new schemes proposed are both viable and deliverable.  Partnership working with other industry bodies and professional organisations, such as NEA & NIA  Working closely with MP’s to ensure there is a broader understanding on the real needs of the industry.  In more recent times GAIN has started to have closer dialogue with CAN and is in preliminary discussions with Andy Stephenson as to how partnership working can enhance what we are both trying to achieve.

The collective mass, action speaks louder than words!!  What can we do as an association, what services can we, or our members offer that will help you to assist in the delivery of your Carbon targets?  What are the key drivers that Government have stated are key to the continued success of the Carbon Action Network?  By working in partnership with CAN nationally or with individual energy officers, can we help to assist you in achieving your targets?
