Cambodian Genocide Nora Irma

When did it start? When did it end? It started in 1970. It ended in 1979 when the Khmer Rouge lost. Before the war After the war Start End

Where was it? Who was involved? The mainly involved in the Cambodian Genocide were, * Cambodian Citizens * Khmer Rouge * Vietnam * United States The war was mainly going on in, * Cambodia, Phnom Penh

What was the problem? What was it about? * One group wanted to be more like the west, and one wanted to stay Cambodian that why they started the war.

How are children affected? What happened to the children? *They can get separated from their family. They can get killed by the big huge tree. Their parents might die. They might become child soldiers. Many were forces to kill their family.

Interesting Facts Wanted to kill all smart people, educated people, intellectual, teachers, doctors, former military police members, lawyers and anyone else opposing the regime. No religion aloud. No relationship aloud. The bank closed and said that they didn’t have any money, so people were only trading. Americans killed over 750,000 Cambodians in the effort to destroy the North Vietnamese. Pol Pot went to school in France. Even wearing glass was enough reasons to kill you because you look smart if anyone in you family was a doctor you will be dead. Some country let him go in their country to hide and he died in 1998 by a heart attack.
