28 What is God’s desire ? What God desires is that we turn back to Him again.

29 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Ephesians 5:18

30 this has to do with our daily experience, our daily walk as Christians. the filling of the Holy Spirit is as essential for Spiritual Grows. Without this aspect of the Holy Spirit’s work we could not go on to maturity in the Christian Life.

31 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day. Luke 5:26

32 The Saviour just healed a paralytic and the people who saw the Miracle glorified God and were filled with fear.

33 So then, when the Believer is filled with the Holy Spirit it means that the Holy Spirit controls the mind, the heart and the Body of a Christian. Alcohol controls and so does the Holy Spirit

34 A Christian is either carnal or spiritual. Depending who or what controls him.

35 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 1 Peter 2:11

37 The baptism by the Holy Spirit was a once for all act. This was not something that is done again and again. Being filled by the Holy Spirit should be a moment by moment matter.

38 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16

39 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Galatians 5:17

40 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Galatians 5:18

41 The desire of the flesh nature will be overcome by the desires of the Holy Spirit = God.

49 Total Control, No the Holy Spirit is a person a Holy Person from the Godhead, who indwells us in order to control us.

50 Though we received Jesus Christ as personal Saviour, the Holy Spirit does not control us until we recognize that He is a Member of the Godhead, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

51 When we show complete confidence of His Control and turn over everything to Him by an act of the Will, then we are filled, and controlled by Him.

55 Obedience !

56 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1

57 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. Romans 6:13

65 Together with yielding there must be a desire to be filled and then the act of obedience whereby we approve that He is living in us.

66 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. John 7:37

67 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. John 7:38

69 Thirsting = suggests desire drinking = suggests obedience and trust

70 When we sin it means the self life has taking control. We must confess that sin and be cleansed and restore us to fellowship.

71 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

72 The Lord not only forgives us but cleanses us, thus making room for the Holy Spirit to take complete possession of our lifes. All of which involves the forsaking of sin and the seeking of righteousness, this speaks of a continuous daily habit.

73 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; Philippians 3:10
