About OAYouth Founded in 2009 as a youth NGO OAYouth formation was guided by the African Youth Charter Is member-based, Has membership in 28 African countries OBJECTIVES To motivate and inspire youth to be active in policy development To unify and represent the young people and youth organisations in Africa To empower youth through leadership development and entrepreneurship

African Youth Day Conference November 2011 Recommendations to Donors and Government Support of youth organisations to sustain project implementation Develop virtual platforms as one stop shop for information access Development of the entrepreneurial spirit around agriculture business among rural youth Set up councils within donors agencies to revise good projects from youth, that maybe badly written to reject them. Develop a pool of technical advisers for youth who need to venture into agriculture

African Youth Day Conference November 2011 Recommendations to Donors and Government Youth need financing for their ventures. The most common comment by the youth was that lack of funding was an important obstacle for young entrepreneurs. Create a Global Youth Innovation Fund (GYIF) to support and fund the projects of young innovative entrepreneurs. Create a network of all associations which work in the field of the entrepreneurship. Provide tax exemption for at least 3 years for youth.
