How to Apply Initial Application Procedure PharmCAS Application( which includes:  a personal statement (which outlines a student’s interest in pharmacy)  3 letters of recommendation  PCAT results (use PCAT codes 0104 or 0100)  Official transcripts from all regionally accredited colleges or universities previously attended.

How to Apply (Continued) Secondary Application Procedure Supplemental UMES School of Pharmacy Application( which includes:  A biographical sketch (a one page summary of who you are, what matters most to you, and how you would add value to the School of Pharmacy at UMES)  State residency form  Passport-size photo (2 x 2)  A $40.00 supplemental fee Supplemental Applications are available online to be submitted electronically for Fall 2014.

Course Requirements Continued Pre-Pharmacy requirements may be taken at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore or any regionally accredited institution in the United States and Canada Foreign Credits are NOT accepted AP, CLEP or IB Credits are ONLY accepted for non- science coursework AND must appear on a college transcript

GPA Minimum GPA required is a 2.75  GPA is calculated specifically from the pre-requisites Repeated Courses  New grade replaces previous grade for up to 2 courses  For additional repeated courses, the average of the grades from all attempts will be used. All pre-requisites must be completed before July 2014

PCAT and TOEFL Requirements The PCAT is REQUIRED  There is NO SET PCAT, however scores above the 65 th percentile rank are viewed favorably and scores below the 35 th percentile rank are viewed negatively  January 2014 PCAT is the last test considered for interview eligibility for Fall 2014 applicants  PCAT preparatory book or course is recommended  If taken more the once, we will use your highest scores TOEFL is NO LONGER REQUIRED  Internal study found that TOEFL scores correlated with verbal & reading PCAT scores

Criminal Background Check All students are required to have a criminal background check (CBC) report on file in the School of Pharmacy Office of Students Affairs and Office of Experiential Education. The criminal background check is performed by Certiphi Screening Incorporated through the PharmCAS process. Please note the following: The Criminal Background Check is MANDATORY. Information from the CBC must be file with the Offices of Student Affairs and Experiential Education, in the School of Pharmacy before the student secures a seat in the class. Information on obtaining the initial CBC is ed to each student who has been offered admission to the School of Pharmacy for the incoming class.
