Product Immersion Olathe June 2009

FS 4800 Available as a front pivot (Standard) or rear pivot model 900mm (36”) Maximum Blade Capacity 35.7 kW (48 HP) Yanmar Diesel Overall Dimensions: 1,295mm (51”) High 1,422mm (56”) Long 845mm (33-1/4”) Wide

FS 4800 Front Pivot Front Pivot Rear wheels positioned closer to back of saw. More weight over the blade shaft Must lift up on handle bars to maneuver Easier to cut straight Consistent depth of cut Deeper cuts per pass

FS 4800 Rear Pivot Rear Pivot Rear wheels positioned closer to center of saw Less weight over blade shaft Must push down on handles to maneuver Less fatiguing when constant maneuvering is required. Ideal for cutting traffic loops, patch work, and small service jobs.

FS 4800 Patented Power Transmission System Allows engine to be mounted inline on saw frame which reduces vibration. Two output shafts that allow us to use a total of 12 belts (6 on each side) Balanced transmission that results in about 31.3 kW (42 HP) at the blade shaft. Blade clutch allows engine operation without blade rotation.

FS 4800 Patented Power Transmission System Three Speed Gearbox Allows operator to change blade diameters and run at correct rpm’s without changing pulleys and belts. Two neutral positions allows engine operation without the blade rotating.

FS 4800 Patented Power Transmission System Three Speed Gearbox Blade shaft tachometer shows operator correct blade shaft rpm’s for different diameter blades. Switch to indicate blade shaft or engine rpm’s.

FS 4800 Patent Pending Blade Shaft System 500 hour service interval hour/3 year warranty. Tapered pulley and flange system with key. No set screws. Quick disconnect blade flanges Labyrinth sealing system. Two sealed ball bearings. One on each side.

FS 4800 Hydrostatic Pump and Drive System Gear driven hydrostatic pump mounted directly to engine. Supplies hydraulic oil to rear wheel motors. Balance valve with release for free- wheeling.

FS 4800 Drive Motors Hydraulic wheel motors are driven by hydrostatic pump. Directly coupled to rear wheels. No chains, sprockets or bearings to service. This system produces consistent forward and reverse movement of saw. Eliminates surging or stalling of the saw when cutting.

FS 4800 Operator Handles Patent pending multi-position handles can be a adjusted to operators preference. Increased operator comfort and reduced fatigue.

FS 4800 Console and Control Panel Center mounted control panel. Water temperature gauge. Tachometer Hour Meter Hour meter and tachometer are separate so tachometer may be replaced without losing operating hours. Ammeter

FS 4800 Front Pivot Console and Control Panel Emergency Stop Switch Oil pressure Light Circuit Breaker Water Safety Switch Blade Depth Stop Control Optional Blade Clutch Option

FS 4800 Front Pivot Electric Tracking Switch Patent pending electric tracking allows operator to make tracking adjustments while cutting. Adjusts rear wheels for alignment corrections while cutting. Reduces operator fatigue.

FS 4800 Rear Pivot Hydraulic Differential Switch placed in left position allows the saw to pivot on rear wheels Switch placed in center position locks rear wheels and saw will not pivot (Differential Lock) Switch placed in right position and held allows the saw to free wheel.

FS 4800 Blade Depth Gauge Electric positive depth stop activation switch. Depth stop switch on control panel must be in the on position. Lower blade until contact with concrete then move pointer to required depth of cut.

FS 4800 Rear Panel Fuel Fill Visible fuel tank for checking fuel level Water connection Water on/off lever Lowering speed adjustment

FS 4800 Rear Wheels Rear wheels mounted directly to wheel motors with four bolts. Easy to remove for service or replacement.

FS 4800 Summary Yanmar 4-cylinder liquid cooled turbo charged diesel engine Produces 31.3kW (42 HP) at the blade shaft 900mm (36”) Maximum blade capacity One patented and three patent pending features: Right angle drive system (Patented) Sealed blade shaft system Multi-positional operator handles Electric tracking system Blade shaft system 500 hour service interval 1000 hour/Three warranty

FS 6600 Patented Power Transmission System Allows engine to be mounted inline on saw frame which reduces vibration. Two output shafts that allow us to use a total of 16 belts (8 on each side) Balanced transmission that results in about 44.7 kW (60 HP) at the blade shaft. Blade clutch allows engine operation without blade rotation.

FS 6600 Patent Pending Blade Shaft System 500 hour service interval hour/3 year warranty. Tapered pulley and flange system with key. No set screws. Quick disconnect blade flanges Labyrinth sealing system. Four sealed ball bearings. Two on each side.

FS 6600 Hydrostatic Pump Gear driven hydrostatic pump mounted directly to engine. Supplies hydraulic oil to rear wheel motors. Balance valve with release for free-wheeling.

FS 6600 Drive Motors Hydraulic wheel motors are driven by hydrostatic pump. Directly coupled to rear wheels. No chains, sprockets or bearings to service. This system produces consistent forward and reverse movement of saw. Eliminates surging or stalling of the saw when cutting.

EPA Regulations – Tier 3 Tier 1through Tier 4 regulations are a part of the EPA’s Clean Air Act, enacted to reduce emissions of specific pollutants produced by diesel engines. Starting in 1996 the EPA introduced a progression of 4 Tiers of emissions regulations, each Tier further reducing emissions of specific pollutants. Diesel engine emission regulations are also specific to the engines in particular power categories. Husqvarna large flat saws are in one of each of the three power categories and are shown on the chart below. EPA Tier 3/Interim Tier 4 reduces Nitrogen Oxide and Hydrocarbon (NOx+HC) emissions by 40%. Final Tier 4 regulations take effect in 2012 and 2013, depending on power category, and will reduce Particulate Matter (PM) emissions by over 90%.

John Deere Tier 3 Engine Changes The most notable changes to the engines from the previous Tier 2 Engines are the Charge Air Cooling (CAC) which cools the charge air after it leaves the turbo charger but before it enters the engine intake manifold. The CAC is essentially another section on the radiator. Operation of the Flat Saw is not affected by the CAC but it dramatically reduces the Nitrous Oxide Emissions from the diesel exhaust.

The other major design change is the Full Authority Electronic Engine Control. Engine performance is governed and monitored by an Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The diesel injector timing and duration is directly controlled electronically. The engine has no throttle cable or linkage. No mechanical governor. Electronic Engine data is collected and processed in the ECU and broadcast onto the Control Area Network Bus. (aka CANBus). John Deere Tier 3 Engine Changes
