Rules for topo maps Contour lines never cross Every 5 th line is bolded and labeled with elevation Lines are separated by constant difference in elevation - this is known as a contour interval
Bathymetric Maps Like a topo map Represents depth BELOW sea rather than height above Numbers low near sea level, get higher the deeper you go
Geologic Maps Represents geological features of a region Rock units are color coded and have a key Faults and folds also represented on geologic maps
Weather Maps Current weather conditions Isotherms – like contour lines but for temperature Isobars – like contour lines but for pressure Current Weather
