Purpose Learn about artists from around the world and throughout history Research Internet and print material sources Create a digital story using Photo Story 3 Use various multi media tools and resources to tell artist’s story Create informative and entertaining presentation Answer question “What did the artist contribute to the world of art?”

Why? Receiving facts vs. becoming experts Make connections to artists, not just signature on canvas Discover personal touches that made them human. First person stance- feel ownership of information Music, voice, photos, cartoon- Create emotional connection More relatable to students

Procedures Research artist- Internet and print materials Choose major life events, contributions Write script of story Create storyboard Choose images from Web, take photos, illustrate cartoons Record script in artist’s “voice” Select and incorporate appropriate music
