FORMATION OF OIL AND NATURAL GAS SCIENTIST BELIEVE THAT OIL AND NATURAL GAS FORM FROM THE REMAINS OF MARINE ORGANISIMS SUCH AS PLANKTON AND SOFT BODIED BENTHIC ORGANISMS THAT ARE PUT UNDER HIGH PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE OVER MILLIONS OF YEARS. THE SURROUNDING ROCK IS IMPORTANT TO THE FORMATION OF OIL AND NATURAL GAS BECAUSE SINCE IT IS NONPOROUS IT TRAPS THE OIL AND GAS ALLOWING A RESERVE TO FORM THE SURROUNDING ROCK IS IMPORTANT TO THE SEARCH FOR OIL BECAUSE IT FORMS AREAS OF LOW DENSITY WHICH SCIENTIST CAN DETECT USING SOUND WAVES Yanselis Sanchez

EXTRACTION OF OIL AND NATURAL GAS OIL COMPANIES EXTRACT OIL AND NATURAL GAS FROM THE SEA BED BY DRILLING FROM OIL RIGS AND USING SPECIAL EQUIPMENT TO REDUCE THE RISK OF OIL SPILLS AND GAS LEAKS. DRILLING AT SEA COST A LOT MORE THAN DOING SO ON LAND BECAUSE IT REQUIRES A PLATFORM FROM WHICH TO DRILL FROM AND HAS HIGH TRANSPORTATION EXPENSES.
