Recycling Stamps Last term the Green Team decided to team up with a charity to recycle stamps. The money raised would go to the running costs of Naomi House, the children's hospice. L12 managed to get 439 stamps! If you do have any used stamps please drop them into Miss Noyes in H8. Don’t forget to take your old mobile phones to the main office for the same purpose!
Chewing Gum facts The Keep Britain Tidy Campaign says people in the UK consume 935 million packets of gum every year Each piece of gum costs 3p to buy but 10p to clean up Nine out of ten city paving stones have had gum stuck to them Removing gum off the pavement takes expensive jet sprays or chemical treatments In London there are over 300,000 blobs of chewing gum on Oxford Street alone The government spends £150m each year on cleaning up gum on the UK's streets Did you know Singapore banned chewing gum in 1992 because of a litter problem.
