Great River Energy Jacob Selseth Great River Energy Member Services

Great River Energy Wholesale G & T Member owned, non-profit Serve 28 distribution cooperatives Nearly 875 employees 650,000 members 3,619 MW of generation 4,600 miles of transmission lines Company commitment to environmental stewardship

GRE’s Commitment  Committed to the Triple Bottom Line: ■ Affordable rates ■ Reliable electric service ■ Environmental Stewardship Environmen t Reliabilit y Rates

Conservation Improvement Strategies Rate design –Using price signals to change load requirements Load management –Primary goal is to reduce need for new capacity (kW) –Strategic opportunities to shift use to off-peak times –Effective tool for avoiding high-cost energy purchases Conservation and energy efficiency –Primary goal is to reduce energy usage (kWh) –Strategic opportunities to reduce wasted energy –Cost effective alternative to higher incremental supply costs

Wholesale rate incentives Electric Thermal Storage (ETS) – Space Heating – Water Heating – Electric Vehicles – Pool Heating Air Source Heap Pumps Ground Source Heat Pumps (Commercial) Interruptible Programs – Water Heating – Air Conditioning – Dual Fuel – C&I

Load management GRE has over 300,000 loads under control Interruptible programs – ~ 380 MW or 12% of summer peak can be interrupted – ~ 350 MW or 13% of winter peak can be interrupted Off-Peak (ETS) programs – 150 MW of off-peak loads provides – >400 MWh sales annually – Water and space heating – Electric vehicles

Typical Hot Summer Day AC & PSWH 1100C&I 1300 Irr MW Restore Hours
