2 Objectives of Briefing Trainers: - gain an understanding of the initiative - have sufficient knowledge to answer basic queries from participants - be aware of extra information resources available for QGTPI - know where to find more info

3 Queensland Government Triple P Initiative DCCSDS - led universal parenting program $6.6m investment over 2 years; commenced August 2016 Aim - reach 140,000 parents, including Indigenous and CALD, single parents and regionally-based families Further 3 years funding subject to external evaluation

4 6 Key Project Areas Implementing Partners - training, resources and support Fast Start – 134 seminars by June 2016 then rely on partners to provide services Triple P Online, self-help workbooks – 20,000+ Stay Positive Communications Campaign ( Employee Assistance Program – completed Evaluation- commissioned by Dept

5 Implementing Partners Goals: 1150 training places across Qld (about 700 practitioners) 85% accredited (978) Approximately 60 training courses – front loaded Practitioners to reach about 112,000 parents

6 Process for Gaining Partners Proactive - targeting large organisations Reactive – respond to enquiries Implementation Consultants for agencies Enter an MOU to ensure shared understanding of mutual obligations Agency-based and OE training

7 Memorandum of Understanding Obligations of Implementation Partners - Staff are aware of the terms of their participation in training (PTP form) - Deliver the program at no cost to parents - Register service sites & group events on Provider Site - Strive to meet service delivery targets - Collect parent participation data (ASRA) - Submit a quarterly data report

8 Service Delivery Targets Seminars – 200 parents/yr Primary Care – 50 parents/yr Discussion Groups – 100 parents/yr Group – 25 parents/yr Standard – 25 parents/yr Enhanced/Pathways – 25 parents/yr

9 About the Targets Based on reaching 140,000 parents with 1150 training places in 2 years Modest, recognise other work activities Not unique parents (occasions of service) Apply only to those trained under MOU If accessing multiple courses, add targets Previously trained can help offset target (bonus counts)

10 Eligible practitioners Meet own travel and accommodation costs Attend all aspects of the training (pre-accreditation & accreditation) Offer the service at no cost to parents Strive to reach service delivery targets Participating practitioners sign and line supervisor sign PTP Form

11 Data – Reach & Demographics Count of parents commencing an intervention each quarter & number of events Demographics for all participants - Gender; ages of children; relationship to child; single/couple; - Health Care Card holder (proxy low income) - Postcode (metro, regional, remote) - LOTE (proxy for cultural diversity) - Identify as ATSI

12 Data – Clinical Outcome For each level, a minimum set of questionnaires nominated from suite in the program See Getting Started Guides for details ASRA for online completion or to enter data from hard copy forms

(Provider site, be familiar with materials, get a plan, advertise, practice, accredit, get support, refer on) ASRA – quick guide Stay Positive Communications –how to get on Provider site, Promote Service, List sessions, Promote sessions, Access resources

14 Resources Program and promotional resources sent straight after training completed (Trainers’ forms asap) for OE or at training for Agency Estimated 6 month supply of tip sheets, workbooks, Range of brochures, posters provided To re-order Internal process to check ‘reasonableness’ of order based on data reports or publicly listed events
