Education Calendar Southern Colorado Region April - June 2016 Dementia Conversations This workshop offers tips on how to have honest and caring conversations with family members about going to the doctor, deciding when to stop driving and making legal and financial plans. Know the 10 Signs: Early Detection Matters If you or someone you know is experiencing memory loss or behavioral changes, it’s time to learn the facts. Early detection of Alzheimer’s disease gives you a chance to begin drug therapy, enroll in clinical studies and plan for the future. This interactive workshop features video clips of people with Alzheimer’s disease as a way to highlight the challenges they face every day.

But now, science is able to provide insights into how to optimize our physical and cognitive health as we age. Join us to learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement, and use hands-on tools to help you incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging. If you or someone you know is affected by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, it’s time to learn the facts. Join us and hear caregivers and professionals discuss helpful strategies to provide safe, effective and comfortable care in the middle stage of Alzheimer’s disease. Legal and Financial Planning for Alzheimer’s Disease If you or someone you know is affected by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, the time for legal and financial planning is now. Legal and Financial Planning for Alzheimer’s Disease is a workshop presented by an attorney who is a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association.
