@CRMUG Agenda  4:00 – 4:15 Registration/Networking  4:15 – 4:30 Welcome & Introductions  4:30 – 5:00 Converting to CRM 2011  5:00 – 5:30 ADFS and IFD Project Plan Collaborate Presentation  5:30 – 6:15 Collaborate Presentation  6:15 – Wrap-Up

@CRMUG Getting to know you better Introductions Name Company (describe Company/Industry) Your role in the company What do you hope to accomplish by attending this and future meetings?

@CRMUG Things to know…  …before you upgrade from Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011…  …to avoid stressing yourself and your users!

@CRMUG MSCRM 2011  The MSCRM 2011 client is heavy … Make sure your hardware is up to the task.  Read the minimum requirements – you will need every bit of those requirements or you will be sorry.  Win 7, 4 gigs

@CRMUG Follow-Up Activity is gone  Remember in MSCRM 4.0 that you could click “Follow Up” to add a follow-up associated with the originating Activity? GONE!

@CRMUG Data Mapping: Different  The “Data Mapping” facility was re-built in Dynamics CRM 2011, resulting in challenges in maintaining old “production” data maps.  Need to carefully review the “auto- mapping” that is now done during an import.

@CRMUG Re-Import Changed  The “re-import” process was completely re- done in Dynamics CRM 2011, causing difficulties in managing the “xml” format for Excel

@CRMUG Different Field Values Based on Creation Context  We’ve found that “Account”, “Contact”, and “Campaign” field values can vary in Activities based on how the Activity was created.  We are creating specific fields that will always be “Account”, “Contact”, and “Campaign”, regardless of creation context.

@CRMUG Security Roles on Dialogs  Security roles on Dialogs are separate from Workflow security  Must adjust user roles to allow users to update/run dialogs

@CRMUG Field-level Security  Field-level Security is new in Dynamics CRM  Fields can be hidden at the user & team level.  System attributes cannot (currently) be configured for Field Level Security – only Custom attributes (items you added)

@CRMUG Activity Due Dates Changed  Activities with a Due Date of NULL used to be displayed at the top of each filtered Activity view, giving them good visibility.  In Dynamics CRM 2011, Activities with a Due Date of NULL display only when the All filter is selected.

@CRMUG Managed vs. Unmanaged Solutions  New (and somewhat confusing) in Dynamics CRM 2011  Managed is tidy-er, though more restrictive in some cases… – Managed solutions can be uninstalled easily & cleanly – Managed solutions cannot be exported (but can be deleted and re-installed) – Managed solutions cannot be directly modified – Managed solutions try to work out solution conflicts if possible (or it displays both customizations if not)

@CRMUG Sequence of Solution Upgrades  Unmanaged Solution upgrades must be conscientiously applied. Order is important.  “LAST SOLUTION IN WINS” (takes precedence)

@CRMUG Standard vs. Non-Standard  An environment setup with add-on solutions may not work on non-standard installations – Almost all installations are non-standard!

@CRMUG Test Environment  Make sure your Test Environment exactly matches your Production Environment. – If it doesn’t, it is fraught with danger.

@CRMUG Web Resources  Web resources are reusable virtual files that are stored in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM database and that you can retrieve by using a unique URL address

@CRMUG Dynamic Worksheets  There have been changes to Dynamic Worksheets in Dynamics CRM 2011

@CRMUG Internet-facing Deployment  Changed dramatically since MSCRM 4.0.  Now requires Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS).

@CRMUG Questions and/or Comments??

@CRMUG ADFS AND IFD PROJECT PLAN

@CRMUG Tips for Successful IFD & ADFS Rollout in CRM 2011  Plan, Plan, Plan  Test  Plan some more

@CRMUG Create DNS Entries  DNS to ADFS Server  DNS for CRM Server (Internal URL)  DNS for CRM Server (External URL)  DNS for Dev  DNS for CRM Organization Name  DNS for Asynchronous Server (if separate from CRM App Server)  Test URL Ping and NSLookup

@CRMUG Install SSL Certificate  CRM Server  ADFS Server  Give CRM IIS Application Pool accounts Read access to Certificates

@CRMUG Download ADFS from MS  Install ADFS  Setup Federation NameSpace URL and Select Certificate in Configuration  Configure UPN LDAP Attribute  Test ADFS URL

@CRMUG Configure CRM Server for Claims-Base Authentication (Internal Access)  Notify CRM Users of No Access to CRM  Configure CRM IIS to use 443 and SSL Certificate

@CRMUG  Configure CRM Deployment Manager  Change Properties for CRM Server Addresses  Perform IIS Reset  Configure CRM Claims Based Authentication (Internal Access)  Enter ADFS URL  Select Certificate  Environment Check is all Green  Click Finish – Successful configuration screen, open log file to get new URL

@CRMUG  Configure ADFS for Claims  Open ADFS and Create New Relying Party  User URL Provided by CRM  Create Claims Based Rules  UPN  Windows Account Name  Primary SID  Finish the ADFS Wizard  Perform IIS Reset on CRM Server  Test Internal CRM URL Access

@CRMUG Configure CRM Server for IFD (External Access)  Open CRM Deployment Manager  Select Configure Internet Facing Deployment  Configure IFD Web Server Addresses  Enter External Domain (Use external DNS entry here)  Green Environment Checks  Click Finish  Configure ADFS Claims Rules (External Access)  Configure ADFS for Claims  Open ADFS and Create New Relying Party  Use URL Provided by CRM (use External URL)  Create Claims Based Rules  UPN  Windows Account Name  Primary SID  Finish the ADFS Wizard  Perform IIS Reset on CRM Server  Test External CRM URL Access
