3Clinical Training Skills - Planning for a Training Course ENABLING OBJECTIVES  Consider general planning issues  Ensure appropriate participant selection  Review the required course materials  Select and make arrangements for the classroom  Select and make arrangements for the practical session (clinic, station…)

11Clinical Training Skills - Planning for a Training Course CLASSROOM LOCATION  Close to, or in the same building as, the clinic where the clinical portion of training will be held  In a hotel where the participants are staying

12Clinical Training Skills - Planning for a Training Course CLASSROOM LOGISTICS #1  This course is the only event scheduled in the room  The space is large enough for the number of participants  Tables arranged in a U-shape or other appropriate formation  A table where the trainers can place their course materials

13Clinical Training Skills - Planning for a Training Course CLASSROOM LOGISTICS #2  Space for audiovisual equipment  Space for participants to work in small groups  Space to set up simulated clinics  Breakout rooms for small group work  Room is properly heated or cooled and ventilated

14Clinical Training Skills - Planning for a Training Course CLASSROOM LOGISTICS #3  Adequate electric power  Toilet facilities which are adequately maintained  Telephones are accessible  Furniture such as tables, chairs and desks is available
