South Tees NHS Foundation Trust… Comprises of JCUH, FH, district and community hospitals Provides a range of highly specialised regional services to 1.5million people, including Neurosciences

Diagnostic investigations of the central and peripheral nervous system function Including: Electroencephalography (EEG). Measurement of the electrical activity of the brain. Nerve conduction studies (NCS) and Electromyography (EMG). Measurement of peripheral nerve function. Evoked Potentials (EP). Measures the electrical activity of the brain in response to stimulation of specific sensory nerve pathways. What is Neurophysiology???

Small team consisting of: 2 Full time and 1 Part time Consultant Neurophysiologists Dr Simon Taggart, Dr Hanny Seow and Dr Chris Fisher Department Manager- Helen Brown The department of Neurophysiology 3 Senior Physiologists- Jo Best, Andrew Poulton, Laura Caddy 2 Clinical Physiologists- Rob Tobin, Cassie Fawcett 2 Admin staff- Jade Jamieson, Rachel Douglas

Used as a diagnostic tool in the investigation of many neurological conditions affecting the brain. Including: EEG *Epilepsy and its syndromes *Status Epilepticus *Brain infections *Dementia *Hypoxic brain injuries The group of patients referred: Neurology/ Paediatrics- neonates/ Learning disabilities/ Elderly/ Medicine/ Critical and Intensive care/ Psychiatry

MS is a disease in which myelin in the brain and spinal cord are damaged, disrupting the ability of parts of the nervous system to communicate, Some of the most common symptoms include: extreme tiredness (fatigue) numbness and tingling blurring of vision problems with mobility and balance Visual Evoked Potentials- M.S

Recent amalgamation with diagnostic sleep services Physiologist/ Epilepsy nurse led pre-assessment clinics (PAC) for videotelemetry Blackout clinic First fit clinic Chronic refractory epilepsy clinic Vagal nerve stimulator clinic Other services we offer

As a result of connections with local charities: Abbie’s Love and The Mike Findley MND Fund, several pieces of vital medical equipment have been donated to us over recent years….. Community connections
