I. What are proteins? -Proteins are large organic molecules -Composed of amino acids -Perform several functions in the body including: Ex: neurotransmitters, hormones, enzymes, pigments, antibodies, build muscles, receptors, make up cell membrane - A Proteins shape determines its function

II. How do amino acids work to build proteins? Amino acids look like butterflies The information for amino acids comes from your genetics (DNA) There are 20 different types of amino acids
