by Grace C. Tall Though uninvited to my house, A little mouse came in. He passed an open water pail And, curious, fell in. Unhappily, he was a mouse Who never learned to swim--- And there I was with fourteen guests And no spare chair for him! This happened on Thanksgiving Day, An no one gave thanks more Than this small mouse, when by his tail, I pulled him from the water pail And showed him to the door, But not before I stuffed his vest With crumbs of pie and turkey breast To cheer him on his way

My Reflection: I chose The Thankful Mouse because it is interesting poem. I thought that the mouse was going to drown however I realized that it did not drown. It got pulled by the tail from the speaker.
