2 Types of National Test Centers (NTCs) 5 Fully-Funded  NTC can be located on-base or off-base  DANTES funds the administration fee and exam fee*  Agreements required between the University and the Testing Agencies (College Board and Prometric)  NTC is managed and operated by the University  Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the military installation required for on-base NTC On-Campus  On-campus NTCs choose not to have an MOU with the military installation  DANTES funds the exam fee only  Service members are responsible for the admin fee (costs vary by school) * In support of DoD and the Armed Services

CLEP and DSST for Military Service Members A Partnership with DANTES DSST is funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) through a contract with Prometric. The contract is managed for DoD by the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES)

What is CLEP? + College Level Examination Program (CLEP) + Credit-by-exam program that validates knowledge students have and translates that learning into college credit + 33 computer-based exams developed by college faculty + Mostly multiple-choice, with some essays and listening sections for foreign languages + Scored on a scale of 20–80; score of 50 considered passing + More than 57,000 exams administered to military service members in Exam fee is $80

Role of CLEP and DSST in Fully Funded Initiative + Establish Fully Funded agreements with test centers + Provide exams for administration at test centers + Track the number of Fully Funded candidates tested at each center + Reimburse test centers $25 for each eligible candidate

How to become a CLEP Fully Funded test center 1. CLEP at and express 2. Complete the Test Center Payment Agreement 3. Return the Test Center Payment Agreement and a signed and dated W-9 via or postal mail 4. Upon execution of Test Center Payment Agreement, center will be added to the Fully-Funded Test Center roster

How to become a DSST Fully Funded test center + Complete and submit the form online: Complete, sign and return three documents: -Contract addendum -W-9 -Electronic funds transfer (EFT) form + Once returned, we'll finalize your Fully Funded site status and you'll be on your way to helping military members save time, save money, and graduate sooner! + By becoming a DANTES Fully Funded test center, you'll be able to offer students all of the advantages of the DSST program — at no cost to them.

22 DANTES F ULLY F UNDED Benefits: DANTES helps eligible military members and eligible spouses pursue their educational goals by funding DSST exams (first attempts only).eligible military members and eligible spouses To cover your cost to administer exams, DSST will pay $25 for each exam delivered in the military testing domain.

23 F ULLY F UNDED How it works: 1.When a eligible student comes in to test, the information is captured within the testing platform. 2.The number of fully funded tests delivered recorded on a monthly report. (report ran last Wednesday of each month) 3.Prometric DSST pays the amount on the report to the school/institution.

24 F ULLY F UNDED Important Reminders:  Test administration or proctor fees are not applicable for DANTES- funded military and military-approved candidates.  Test Centers may charge civilian and non-funded military candidates a administration fee.  Two forms of ID are required. Armed Forces of the United States Military ID & U.S Government or State-Issued Photo ID.

In order to continuously assess and improve our student veteran programs and services, the Division of Student Affairs developed the Student Veterans Advisory Team that I am a member of. The overarching purpose of the Student Veterans Advisory Team is to identify national, state, and university resources specific to the needs of student veterans.

FAU waives the local testing administrative fee when active military students and their dependents take any of the CLEP and DSST exams at any of our locations Schedule on their time. It's convenient to schedule any of the available CLEP and DSST exams at FAU location through our online registration system.
