Academic Senate Responsible for the long term policies and development strategies Elected body from the main units Elaborates regulations and instructions for the implementation of the long and mid term objectives of the institution

Rectorate Body composed of rector, deans, vice rectors, chancellor; Responsible for mid term management Organizes meetings every week in order to discuss everyday problems like quality assurance, iniciatives, ect.

Council of Administration Elected body by the main units of the university plus pointed members from the Minister of Education and Science. Resposilbe for all the financial issues like: – Investments; – Funds for research and projects; – Decision of the fees for different services offered by the university.

Chancellor Main authority for the general management, maintenance, economic and financial operations. Responsible for: – Human resources management – Financial issues – Implementation of investments and purchase – Communication – Services and maintenance of the facilities and equipment

Main Units (Faculties) More and more autonomy towards hiring full- time and part-time academic staff. More and more autonomy towards management of funds dedicated to research.

Present challenges Strengthening of exisiting employment system to be able for the institution to hire highly qualified faculty. Enhance of the university information system to make it toally versitile and in full service of students learning, faculty teaching and supporting staff needs. Development of staff abilities and flexibilities to adequately respond to labour market needs and especially to enterpreneurship needs in the country.

Our university vision Building of effective communication and genuine partnerships with sister universities in the region and wider to be able to increase student and faculty mobility and employability. Incorporation and adoptation of the university long-run plans in the strategic avenue of the other universities in the region. Enhance of research capacities to realize the shift from a teaching based university to a research based one.
