Quarterly 1 NASA Quarterly UVIS Q (February - April 2009)

Quarterly 2 UVIS: Science Highlights Ultraviolet image of Saturn’s rings This false color image of Saturn’s rings shows reflected sunlight near 180 nm. The shadow of the planet on the rings is visible at lower right. Warmer colors (red) indicate brighter regions of the rings. (Colwell)

Quarterly 3 UVIS: Accomplishments Science Highlights – Analyzed periodic structure in Huygens ringlet and searched for satellite wake signal. (Colwell) – Developed new self-gravity wake model. (Colwell)

Quarterly 4 UVIS: Accomplishments Publications – Published this quarter2 – In Press (Went into press Feb-Apr and also includes still in press from earlier quarters)3 – Submitted (Submitted Feb-Apr and also includes submitted earlier and still in review) 21 – Published 2009 to date:3 – Published Entire mission80 Presentations at scientific meetings – 1 Paper at the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference (LPSC) (Hendrix) – 2 paper at the EGU (Esposito, Yung) Public Outreach and Press Activities (Feb - Apr 2009) – 3: public talks – 0: press releases – 0: press conferences (phone interviews)

Quarterly 5 UVIS: Plans – Science Plans (May - Jul 2009) Prepare a short paper on UVIS auroral highlights (Pryor) Apply improved self-gravity wake model to expanded set of occultation data. (Colwell) Study the excess variance in the occultation data to make statements about particle size variations across the rings. Analyze waves in C ring. (Colwell) Determine photon mean path lengths and color ratios of FUV rings spectra taking into account the size of the projected field of view. (Bradley) – Publications (May - Jul 2009) — In preparation (includes submitted up to now, but not yet published)24 1 paper in press in Rev. Geophys. 2 papers in press in Icarus 1 paper in press in World Scientific Review 1 paper in review at Scholarpedia 4 paper in review at Planet. Space. Sci. 2 paper in review at J. Geophys.
