9 th grade Support Courses  Math Lab and Reading Strategies classes are designed to meet the needs of students whose mathematics or reading achievement does not meet the proficiency level.

How do students qualify for Honors Courses? Students must meet the following to be eligible for honors courses:  Signatures from parent and teacher in the specific academic area is needed.

Level Changes  Honors course level changes are allowed only between the 4 th and 6 th week of the semester.  The level change process will not begin without a Parent/Teacher Conference and ALL completed signatures on Add/Drop form (available in Guidance)  Parent  Teacher  Department chair

Dual Enrollment vs. Advanced Placement Courses Dual Enrollment:  $267 per semester ($84 per credit hour plus $15 registration fee per semester)  The grade is the same as the HS grade (C or better for D.E. credit)  Credit transfers to in-state and other public institutions and many private schools; not accepted by some selective private schools. Advanced Placement:  $92 per exam  Based on a single, national exam administered in May. Class grade is separate from the exam score.  Transfers to most institutions, public and private.
