APPA defines standards for housekeeping in institutions of higher learning as well as k-12 facilities. APPA Custodial Quality levels are as defined. 1.“Orderly Spotlessness” highest level of quality 2.“Ordinary Tidiness” areas perceive to be clean however marks, dust, smudges and fingerprints are noticeable with close inspection 3.“Casual Inattention” reflects staffing related concerns, build ups of dust dirt and stains are present during inspections 4.“Moderate Dinginess” floors reflect dull appearance, horizontal and vertical surfaces contain dust marks and fingerprints, less than 5% of lights are burnt out.
