Curriculum and Structure Additional Compulsory Courses (bridging courses) Prospective and commencing students may be required to take three preparatory Additional Compulsory Courses in order to assist them in meeting pre- requisites for the BHE programme entry.

Curriculum and Structure 2.Health Service in Hong Kong 1.HealthCare Ethics 3.Human Biology Students who are required to take the ACC will have to complete a total of 69 cps in order to fulfill the graduation requirement of the program. Additional Compulsory Courses (9 cps):

2-year Full-time or 3-year Part-time HK$168,000 for whole programme (HK$2,800 per credit point)

Credit transfer may be granted to students in recognition of their prior learning experiences. Students should submit application for credit transfer after they have completed their programme registration.

To be eligible for admission, applicants should*: a. be serving teachers in kindergartens, primary, secondary or special schools; or registered social workers; or b. have obtained a Certificate in Education or Certificate of the Teachers of Children with Special Educational Needs, Diploma in Social Work or equivalent; or c. have obtained a Higher Diploma in Nursing or equivalent; or d. have obtained a Registered Nurse qualification from the Hong Kong Nursing Council; and e. be fluent in both written and spoken English. # For applicants of Associate Degree or Higher Diploma in health or health-related studies, they are required to complete the Additional Compulsory Courses (ACC) before graduation.

 Award a Bachelor of Health Education (Hons) degree  Will NOT enable a graduate to become a practicing nurse in Hong Kong  A wide range of employment opportunities, and will be able to compete for high-level positions  Qualify for work as health promotion officers in elderly centers, as community health educators, as wellness coordinators in outpatient departments/clinics, etc  Opportunity to do postgraduate study at the Institute through a variety of Master’s programmes. The Institute also offers Doctor of Education programme and PhD programme for doctoral study in the relevant specialty.
