Introduction of MACHINE-TO-MACHINE Communications

一、特点与挑战  Machine-To-Machine (M2M)  特点:  fully automatic actuation among intelligent machines, without or with low intervention of Humans 。  Self-x : self-organization, self-configuration, self- management, and self-healing.  low cost, extensively deployed in a large scale.  技术挑战:  massive number, green requirement, machine heterogeneity, resource constraints, and Quality-of- Service (QoS) support, seamless.

二、机器到机器的智能网络  Toward Intelligent Machine-to-Machine Communications in Smart Grid  SG is able to produce, distribute, and consume power in the most efficient and intelligent way.  Survey of existing communication technologies that can be adopted for M2M communication in SG.  The communication architecture : a number of hierarchical networks: the neighborhood area network (NAN), building area network (BAN), and home area network (HAN).

 Home M2M Networks Architecture :  :

M2M  Cognitive Machine-to-Machine Communications  Cognitive M2M (CM2M) to enhance the flexibility, efficiency and reliability of M2M communications.

M2M  Cognitive Machine-to-Machine Communications  Visions and Potentials for the Smart Grid  Cognitive M2M (CM2M) to enhance the flexibility,  efficiency and reliability of M2M communications.  应用场景  CM2M for the Smart Grid  Field Area Networks (FANs), Home Area  Networks (HANs), and Neighborhood Area Networks (NANs).

 Field Area Networks (FANs) : Due to remote geo-locations, there are usually plenty of TVWS. CM2M over TVWS(TV white spaces) becomes an ideal choice for the communications in the renewable energy FANs.  Neighborhood Area Networks (NANs) : The introduction of a concatenator communicates and manages several HANs within its coverage. ( over unlicensed bands )

The coexistence of different M2M communications  Fair and Efficient  The security issue

Thanks!
