9 3. Business Continuity Planning for Pandemic Scenarios: In the event of a pandemic emergency, widespread infection may severely reduce the available workforce for up to three months. The Department of Health and Human Services has stated that a Pandemic may come and go in waves, each lasting 6-8 weeks.
