SME Training Contents World-wide Project – 1 Small and medium sized enterprises / companies (SMEs) are the essential players in world-wide society and economy. In most countries they include more than 90% of all companies and employ more than half of the employees. SMEs are generally seen as the main motor of economic development regarding activities all over the world. They are a fundamental pillar of world-wide welfare with indirect impact through taxation of their profits and wages, et cetera. Co-operatives are companies belonging usually to a large number of people and basing on common values. By that co-operatives are an alternative to other forms of companies’ organisation as private limited or public owned companies; they often experience a long history, respectively business past.

SME Training Contents World-wide Project – 2 Minimal research concerning the interplay of SMEs / co-operatives, ethics and management systems within their common environment. No consolidated knowledge and procedure about the long-term successful implementation of ethic-positioned management systems. To guarantee a successful implementation of ethic-positioned management systems, a methodology has to be designed and applied by integrating knowledge and experiences of companies. A world-wide research concerning the sustainable implementation of ethic positioned, comprehensive management systems allows to design ways of their successful application (basing on detailed case studies of companies). The project started in May 2014 with already 28 partners from 18 countries (7 from the North, 10 from the South). It last until Summer 2017 and finishes by open supporting seminars for participating companies in their geographical regions as well as academic and practical publications in several languages.
