Station 1: Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

Audience & Information & Demonstrate I will get my audiences’ attention by saying a quote about technology. “If our children are to excel in a fast-changing, global society, we must harness the technology resources they need to function in a digital age. We must remember our commitment to their future as we set priorities and establish policies on their behalf. —NEA President Dennis Van Roekel.” The station would look like a technology sub-hub with different kinds of technology device around the room. “UDL provides a blueprint for creating instructional goals, methods, materials, and assessments that work for every—not a single, one-size-fits- all solution but rather flexible approaches that can be customized and adjusted for individual needs”(CAST,n.d.). Differentiation &Interaction UDL has an impact on teaching and learning in the school population because it helps the teacher to get to know his/her students and what he/she need to work on to help them be successful. The attendees can interact by playing educational technology games, working on the computers, IPad, IPhone and using chrome books to look up educational activities. This will let them get a feeling on what the students will be doing in the schools with the updated technology if the bond is pass.

Station 2: Technology and UDL for All Learners

Mission, Belief, and Goals &Course and/or Program Offerings The vision of the Tuscaloosa City Schools is to be a premier, innovative school system that prepares all children for college and career opportunities. The mission of the Tuscaloosa City Schools is to create and support a culture of high expectations for all students to achieve personal, academic, and career opportunities. Major goals for the systems include the following: foster a system wide culture of innovation, continually increase academic achievement and enrichment for all students, as evidenced through multiple measure, improve communications within the Tuscaloosa City School system and with all stakeholder; and develop an inclusive environment with high academic standards through culturally responsive schools. The Director of Professional Development chairs the Innovation strategic team, which facilitates the goal action plans to foster the implementation of twenty-first century instruction, to implement the digital transformation, and to implement Project Lead the Way engineering curriculum through all of the middle school CTE programs, as well as in the TCTA Engineering Academy.

Station 3: 21st-Century Skills Acquisition and Employability Global Awareness- representing diverse cultures, religions and lifestyles in a spirit of mutual respect and open dialogue in personal, work and community contexts Critical Thinking and Problem Solving- helps to produce overall outcomes in complex systems. Information Literacy- Apply a fundamental understanding of the ethical/legal issues surrounding the access and use of information. Social and Cross-Cultural Skills- The ability to navigate the complex life and work environments in the globally competitive information age requires students to pay rigorous attention to developing adequate life and career skills. ICT Literacy helps technology which support future employability by: Use technology as a tool to research, organize, evaluate and communicate information. Use digital technologies (computers, PDAs, media players, GPS, etc.), communication/networking tools and social networks appropriately to access, manage, integrate, evaluate and create information to successfully function in a knowledge economy. Apply a fundamental understanding of the ethical/legal issues surrounding the access and use of information technologies.

Tools & Interaction Khan Academy- is site where students can watch video lesson, take test and helps teacher keep track of student progress. The attendees might interact by working on the different devices or tools by using the information at the station. This will create a good interest and appreciation for educational use of technology by letting them get a real life effect of what is going on in the schools with technology. Khan Academy

New Technology The school will benefit from the upgraded technology from the approved bond by letting them stay connect with the 21 st century technology and what’s going on in the work industry and the future because technology is taking over.
