Parents said that their children spent an average of 1 hour a day online. 58% of parents said that they do not use filtering on their child’s devices.

All broadband providers supply parental control software for FREE Be mindful when you are allowing your children to play games on your phone/tablet. Are your credit card details stored? Be careful about putting on photographs of groups. Be careful about putting pictures on with your children in school uniform (Geo-Tagging). Self-image – be careful with what you’re saying. Keep an eye who they are talking to on ALL devices. Laptops, phones, tablets, etc. should not be used in bedrooms at this age. Talk to them about what they are doing; ask them to show you. Children and young people can be groomed online or in the real world, by a stranger or by someone they know - for example a family member, friend or professional. Groomers may be male or female. They could be any age. Many children and young people don't understand that they have been groomed, or that what has happened is abuse. CyberBullying: Bullying that happens online, using social networks and mobile phones, is often called cyberbullying. A child can feel like there’s no escape because it can happen wherever they are, at any time of day or night. Sexting : is the exchange of self-generated sexually explicit images, through mobile picture messages or webcams over the internet.
