FY15 DoD Participation in Voluntary Education Source : Defense Manpower Data Center & Voluntary Education Information Management System 831K (40%) DoD Service members participated in VolEd in FY15:  15% participated in Tuition Assistance (TA), taking more than 760K courses ( $518.5M in TA expenditures)  15% participated in Defense education programs sponsored by DANTES  52K college degrees and nearly 1,000 certificates were earned 5
