Contact us MORGAN SINDALL- Site Office Moreland School, Moreland Street, EC1V 8BB Project Manager James Kidgell Contracts Manager Mark Thomas – Working With Progress to date We have demolished the a small section of the school building, treated the weak soil and placed piled foundations into the ground. What are we doing this month? Our main activity will be digging up areas of the project around our piled foundations and connecting them together with concrete to create a fully joined foundation system (see picture right). We will also install the underground drainage for the school. November will bring lots of logistical changes to the project that may affect you, our neighbours. UK Power Networks will be installing a new underground power supply for the school during November. This means the area of the King Square Estate Car Park near the school and fronting Moreland Children’s Centre will have to be dug up. On the 14 th -15 th November we will be installing a tower crane to help us build quicker and safer. As a result Moreland Street will be closed over the weekend to facilitate this. Finally on the 23 rd and 24 th we will be moving our site cabins into a small area of the King Square Estate car park to allow us enough room to suitably accommodate our workers. On these two days there will be vehicles delivering the cabins from within the estate car park. It will take us two weeks to fully complete works to the cabins but no deliveries will occur after the 24 th. A new fence will be placed between our cabins and the car park to ensure we do not impede further on the carpark once we have moved in. Our workers and deliveries will continue to enter via Gard Street so further disruption should be minimal. At all times during these aforementioned works access into the estate will be maintained from Central Street We aim to keep any disruption caused by the works to an absolute minimum, however if you have any questions or concerns about the project and our changes during November please do not hesitate to contact us on the details given to the right. The proposed project is the construction of a new school building to replace the existing facilities at Moreland Primary School including new facilities for Moreland Children’s Centre. The new School building will be capable of holding 2 forms of entry. The completed building will provide a better learning environment for the pupils in a more environmentally friendly building.
