The head of the British Royal Family is, of course, Queen Elizabeth II. She is the Head of State and carries out important constitutional functions. She lives in Buckingham Palace. She represents Great Britanin all over the world, taking part in various ceremonies and paying visit to both British local communities and different countries around the world.
Diana was born in 1961, into a very wealthy and aristocratic family. In 1980 Diana appeared on the world stage as the future bride of Charles, the next king of England. They got married on July 29 th in St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. The wedding watched by ¾ billion people wordwide, was a fairytale beginning to a story that did not have a happy ending.
The Beatles were the most famous pop group in the world. Members of the band were John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, and Paul McCantney. They were working-class boys from Liverpool. Their first record „Love Me Do” was a top-30 hit in 1962.
William Shakespeare was an English writer, a poet, a playwright. He became famous because of „Romeo and Julia”, „ Hamlet”. The sentence „To be or not to be” comes from one of his work.
David Beckham, (born on 2 May in 1975) is an English footballer who currently plays in midfield for American Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy and the England national team. He will begin his second stint on loan at storied Italian club Milan in January, in 2010.
