5  Maintain up-to-date listings of rental using:  Automated Housing Referral Network (AHRN)  Displays of handout material  Counsel Applicants on BAH and provide referral assistance  Inspect rental housing for suitability and adequacy  Review, clarify or explain lease contracts upon request  Mediate disputes between tenants and landlords  Provide general home-buying information and handout material

6  Purpose of BAH is to help members defray cost of housing  Rent  Utilities  Insurance  BAH measures costs of rental units in the local rental market  It is designed to provide an allowance that enable Soldiers to acquire housing comparable to private sector civilians in the same income bracket  Runzheimer International validates data  Urban Myth: “BAH is intended to cover a Soldier’s total housing costs”

7  Sponsored by the Department of Defense and designed to assist Soldiers and their families secure available housing  Used to assist the HSO gather rental data for the BAH process  No cost method for property managers to market their available rentals to Soldiers and their families- add unlimited listings  Free search for community rentals, on-base/military housing, military FSBO's, shared rentals and temporary lodging  FSBO listing eligibility includes only:  Military Member  Military Spouse  DOD Civilians

Bliss FY leases will be completed late September  Army’s leasing of privately-owned housing for assignment as Government housing to Active Duty Military  Temporary solution to meeting Ft. Bliss housing needs  Army Corps of Engineer representative acts as the leasing agent for the Army

9  3 or 4 Bedroom Units  Approximately 1200 sq. ft.  Minimum 1.75 BA  Units include:  Townhomes  Apartments  Duplexes  Quadruplex  Single Family Houses (NO SWIMMING POOLS/ JACUZZIS)  Within reasonable commuting distance to Ft. Bliss (Approx. 1 hour driving time during rush hour traffic)  Appliances  Refrigerator  Stove/Oven  Dishwasher  Washer/Dryer Outlets  Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
