1 GARMCO Worldwide Offices

2 Why Global? Definition: A firm that, by operating in more than one country, gains R&D, production, marketing, Competitive Advantages and financial advantages in its costs and reputation that are not available to purely domestic competitors

3 Why Global? Necessity in 21 st Century (whether a company operates domestically or across national boundaries, it can no longer avoid competitive pressures from around the world). Can not grow serving GCC & ME customers only. Exploiting market potential and growth. Gaining scale and scope returns at home. Learning from a leading markets. Pressuring competitors. Diversifying markets. Develop Bahrainis. Promote Bahrain and GCC.

Community Growth Profitability Agility Environment GARMCO Brand Staff Development Diversification Competitive Advantage GARMCO University National Economy Significantly contributing in reducing the unemployment in Bahrain and rising the living standard of our employees. Despite the current global financial downturn, the direct workforce remains intact. In fact, more privileges have been provided to compensate for the global inflation. GARMCO gives local suppliers of business equivalent of $xxxm every year, which also indirectly helps in offering jobs to Bahrainis. Despite the current global financial cries where many rolling mills are getting closed, GARMCO is enjoying a high order book, where it can not meet the demand. Plans are underway for further capacity increases and more subsidiaries. With more than 20 international subsidiaries, GARMCO can better deal with demand behavior changes or crises. For example, during the 1995 and 1997 economic crises & the SARs epidemic that struck the Far East regions, GARMCO successfully managed the impact by transferring the metal allocated to the Far East to other unaffected or less affected regions. Similarly, GARMCO has drastically reduced the impact of the current financial downturn A high portion of products currently allocated to the most affected regions such as USA and Europe have been reallocated to the Far East and Middle East. Unlike other competitors, GARMCO is still producing and selling metal up 80% of its full capacity. Significant efforts and investments have been devoted towards the environments. Hundreds of tones of carbons are saved every year by establishing international subsidiaries and information technologies to reduce staff travels. Considerable investments are made in R&D in order to use practices and materials that reduce the global warming and toxics. The continues process improvements, R&D, global presence, machine upgrades, increased utilization of stat of art of various technologies, etc have led to improved product quality, increased demands and lower costs. GARMCO Global presence, professional business conduct, R&D facilities and the utilization of stat of art information technologies have led to a major decision for diversification. GARMCO does not manufacture and sells aluminium rolled products only. Through its more than 20 subsidiaries, it can market and sell products of other manufactures (domestic, regional and international). GARMCO can also provide consultancy and project management to different parties, including competitors, customers, suppliers, government agents, etc. The international subsidiaries have significantly contribute in training Bahraini nationals to take up challenging positions within the GARMCO group of companies. The exposure available at various worldwide locations enable Bahraini staff to understand the varying needs of customers and get trained on different management aspects. The global presence of GARMCO throughout the glob, has given GARMCO many advantages. Be closer to its customers, reduce time zone effect, better understanding of local markets and emerging technologies, etc. these have given GARMCO of favorable status among others. with most of GARMCO product is exported, the national economy of Bahrain further strengthened. The professionalism standards used in GARMCO, adaptation of industry best practices, deployment of state of the art technologies, etc have highly contributed in rising the profiles of GARMCO employees, customers and suppliers. Not surprisingly, GARMCO employee are headhunted by large corporation. Suppliers and customers proudly referring to GARMCO in their literatures as partner in order to improve their business opportunities. The quality of GARMCO products and services, and the establishment of the overseas subsidiaries have significantly contributed towards the promotion of the GARMCO brand. Despite GARMCO relatively small size, compared to giant integrated mills, we have successfully managed to compete with them in their own locations as a leader of quality rolled aluminium supplier.
