CSE1GDT – Assignment 2010 Paul Taylor

Educational Yes, Boring No! /full/math_games_level_ jpg

The Audience Grades 3 to 6 – You don’t need to address the whole age range Australian school students – We are not going global just yet... Groups of up to 4 players on 1 machine

The Technologies we will use Xbox 360 Console – Xbox controller Windows PC (Running XNA) – Xbox controller / Mouse and Keyboard Team Board Touchboards ( – Windows PC with a Touch Interface Basically a mouse interface 2D – We want some really nice 2D content, not poor 3D Sounds – Don’t forget them!

The Learning Topic Forces and motion Physics is one of the easiest things to put in a game! We don’t want to force students to do math, read equations or calculate remainders The approach should be organic, The central concept is to support learning

How can it be done? This is your Quest... A FUN educational game that can be related back to Real Science by the student’s teacher.

Cooperation The games must be playable by 1 – 4 people – Yes their skill levels will vary No the weak students can not just lose All players should be able to continue play, regardless of skill – What can you do to accommodate this if your game is a simple 1 player game?
