Sexuality in the Bible Genesis 2 Sex is given by God. Sex is to be part of the marital relationship.

Sexuality in the Bible Old Testament Law “You shall not commit adultery” (Exodus 20:14; Deut. 5:18). Sexual practices outside the marital relationship are prohibited (Leviticus 18, 20).

Sexuality in the Bible Song of Songs Celebrates the beauty of the sexual relationship. Sexuality is part of a healthy marriage relationship.

Sexuality in the Bible New Testament Jesus cites the passage from Genesis in reference to marriage (Mat. 19). The marriage relationship illustrates the relationship between Christ and his church (Eph. 5). The sexual relation is to be kept pure (Heb. 13:4). Believers are warned to avoid sexual immorality.

Sexuality in the Bible 1 Corinthians 5-7 God will raise the body to immortality, therefore the body should be treated with care. Believers are one with Christ (6:15-17). The believer’s body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (6:19-20)
