Reading more than the required text and required literature has proven to be characteristic of High SAT test takers. The best preparation for difficult or challenging reading material is to actually read on your own and avoid electronic short cuts that tend to give you a recipe of “main events” and some subjective commentary from those who have actually read the material. The best preparation for difficult reading is to “actively” engage yourself in the reading process and question what you do not know – those who avoid seeking clarification and do not question often do not progress

Study Guide You will have 4 literary passages: 2 poems 1 excerpt from a play 1 excerpt from a novel You will have a total of 40 questions You will have 75 minutes for the reading test; it will take you time to read the passages before you can go in to the questions
