Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research partnered with the Centre for Excellence in Telecom Technology and Management (CETTM), a telecom training centre of MTNL with an objective of preparing talent for the telecom industry.

The official announcement was made with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding at an event help at Welingkar’s Mumbai Campus.

WeSchool provides innovative approach and programs in sync with the emerging challenges of the industry while CETTM is known for providing extensive training to corporate houses, students and employees of MTNL in telecom switching, transmission, wireless communication, telecom operations and management. The MoU between the two institutes pledges development of programs for the advancement of human resources in telecom management.

The launch of two autonomous programs – Post Graduate Program in Telecom Management, and Certificate Course in Telecom Marketing and Management with duration of 11 months and 3 months respectively - was announced at the event. WeSchool will help candidates groom their management skills in the sessions held at Welingkar Campus while CETTM will provide technological expertise.

Expressing his satisfaction at this collaboration, Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director of WeSchool, said, “The collaboration will definitely bolster human capital development specifically for the telecom industry, which requires a cross-functional and high-caliber talent. The upswing in the sector has pushed up the demand for a dexterous workforce adept in cross functionalities spanning over technology and management; the initiative will definitely beef up the talent supply for the sector with industry-relevant skills.”

WeSchool is the 1st B-School to partner with MTNL for delivering specialized management programmes for telecom sector. Mr. AK Garg, Chairman and MD of MTNL, expressed his thoughts over the collaboration, “We are glad to have entered into a partnership with WeSchool, which will help us to get quality professionals to work for our industry…we believe that the collaboration will help us enhance the quality of training while making it more relevant to today’s business environment.”

CETTM aims to provide training of international standards and create and develop knowledge through applied and conceptual research in Telecom Technology and Management. This partnership with WeSchool will help develop a trained workforce for the telecom industry.
