Presentation transcript:

Number 5 Friday 25th November Advent service On Sunday 4th December we will be holding our “Family Friendly all age Advent Celebration" at a.m. in Dean Church. We will be asking "how far is it to Bethlehem?", as we travel in song and rhyme with cattle, sheep, shepherds and wise men, getting ourselves ready, with Mary & Joseph, for the arrival of Jesus. Afterwards we will have our usual "bring and share" lunch in the Kirkstile Community Centre. Everyone is invited to both - that means that you are very welcome! Design and Technology Day We had a super day in school yesterday using natural and recycled materials on a Christmas theme. The children worked together in a mix of ages on a range of practical tasks developing a range of skills, techniques, processes and knowledge. The children worked with willow; making wreaths and stars, felt; making a Christmas images and newspaper, to make party hats. The results were fantastic! Thank-you to all the volunteers who came in to help, your support is greatly appreciated. Shoe Box Appeal We sent 50 shoe boxes to the Operation Christmas Child appeal and this will certainly help make some children in Eastern Europe very happy. Thank-you to everyone for your generosity. The school council are pictured here with some of the boxes. Children in Need We had a super set of outfits on Children in Need day all bearing spots or stripes! We raised £90 so thank-you for all donations. Community Carols Community carol singing will take place on Thursday 8 th December at 6.30pm in the school hall. All welcome!
