Define the Variables Ages The age group of the students are ages 5. Kindergarten Curriculum for these students are difficult grasp and understand the material with the entire class.

Develop Research Questions What geometry teaching strategies would help improve 4 to 5 year olds in math? What learning strategies would help improve 4 to 5 year olds in math?

Intervention and Innovation The problem is students have difficulties learning math skills. My intervention is to do an evaluation on my students. This intervention will give the student’s the knowledge and abilities to grasp the key concepts of math skills

Member of the action research group The members of the action research group is the kindergarten teacher and myself.

Describe the mediation that needs to be taken I will use puzzle-problems with the same puzzle-pieces as the intervention, and a far-transfer task used a wider variety of puzzle- pieces. The intervention helps the students’ performance as a fun learning activity.

Timeline for Intervention 45 minute setting each day for 4 weeks The students will be working in sets of 2 assisting each other Each student will get to be partners with one another over the 4 weeks Formative assessment (pre-test) given at the beginning of the 4 weeks Summative assessment (post-test given at the end of the 4 weeks Small groups-math lab Observations-individual

Statement of Resources Implement an instructional plan to teach Find helpful math activities on computer Find helpful activities to teach in math lab Research scholarly data

Data Collection Ideas Students will have a take home folder to do practice math work at home Formative evaluation-helps me see the knowledge the students already knew on the subject Summative evaluation-helps me see the knowledge the students acquired at the end of the lesson Individual observations to see what pace and how well the students work alone Small groups-overview with discussions and questions

Conclusion After successfully implementing the nine steps for this research project students will have the knowledge to understand geometry. While incorporating the key math components to improve their math skills.
